Windows AI Studio is a new platform that makes it easy to develop and deploy generative AI apps. It brings together cutting-edge AI development tools and models from Azure AI Studio and other catalogues such as Hugging Face.
The platform makes it easy for developers to focus on building great apps instead of spending time on low-level tasks like model training and deployment. It is particularly aimed at those developers who would prefer to work locally rather than invest in cloud resources.
Windows AI Studio expands on the tooling of Microsoft’s cloud-based Azure AI Studio. This adds another AI development tool to Microsoft’s developer ecosystem as competitors such as Google and Amazon (see the recently released Amazon Bedrock platform) are all gearing up to release multiple tools and platforms.
What is Windows AI Studio?
Windows AI Studio makes it easy to fine-tune, customize, and deploy state-of-the-art small language models (SLMs) for local use in your Windows apps. It acts as an extension of Azure AI Studio tools to jumpstart AI development locally on Windows.
The platform provides an end-to-end guided workspace setup that includes model configuration UI and guided walkthroughs to fine-tune popular SLMs like Phi and state-of-the-art models such as Llama 2 and Mistral.
You can also rapidly test your fine-tuned model using the Prompt Flow and Gradio templates integrated into the workspace.
If you’re looking to build generative AI apps, Windows AI Studio can be a suitable platform for you. It’s easy to use, powerful, and packed with features that will help you build great apps quickly.
